Common questions about Hemsplit. Didn’t find an answer? Email us — we read every message.

Does the app need an internet connection?
No. Everything works offline — you can play in airplane mode.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Will I lose progress if I reinstall?
Yes. Uninstalling removes all local data, because nothing is stored on servers.
How do I play Hemsplit?
Each quilt shows four tags at the top. Drag the long vertical seam to split the quilt into a left and a right half, then drag the left and right seams to cut each half in two. Seams snap to the grid lines. Each piece shows its live sum in its corner, and a tag turns green when a piece matches it. Match all four tags to split the quilt.
How are stars awarded?
Every move of a seam to a new grid line counts as one move. Each quilt has a par, the fewest moves needed. Finish within par plus one move for 3 stars, within par plus four moves for 2 stars, and any solve earns 1 star. Your best result on each quilt is kept, and a NEW BEST badge marks a new record.
Why is a quilt locked?
Quilt #1 is open from the start. Each next quilt unlocks when you split the one before it. Open Quilts from the menu to see stars, sizes and locks for all 36 quilts.
Can I take back a move?
Yes. Tap Undo to revert your last seam move, or Restart to start the current quilt over.
How do I reset my progress?
Tap the gear icon on the Workshop screen to open Settings, then tap Reset progress and confirm with Reset. This clears your stars, solved quilts and journal on this device. Sound and haptics switches are in the same Settings sheet.
